Vaastu Shastra – How Are You Living?

April 12th, 2012

I’ve mentioned in previous issues that our environment directly influences up to 1/3 of the luck and opportunities that come our way. However, our destiny and fortune are affected by factors other than our homes – our destiny and our own actions also play a role in what we attract in our lives.

That’s why how we live in a home is just as important as the home we live in which is why Vaastu Shastra (Indian Feng Shui) gives us guidelines for living a life of balance. Vaastu means “abode” and Shastra means “knowledge.” Vaastu comes from the same vedic wisdom as yoga, meditation, and ayurveda.

If our heaven luck or destiny is against our favor or we’re experiencing bad karma, then we need to use our man luck and the virtues within us to minimize the impact. The things we do today contribute to our destiny tomorrow. Vaastu advises us of 10 daily observances for creating good karma and leading a positive life; as you sow so shall you reap

1. Non-violence through compassion (Ahimsa) This means abstaining from causing any pain or harm whatsoever to any living creature, either by thought, word, or deed. Non-injury requires a harmless mind, mouth, and hand.

2. Honesty and truthfulness (Satya) To always speak the truth even though it may be unpalatable. The old adage “the truth shall set you free” is universally applicable to all and unchangeable.

3. Non-stealing (Astheya) We should never encroach upon another person’s property or possessions.

4. Control of the senses (Brahmacarya) Keep focus on your goal and path by being fixed in your higher self recognizing that the lower urges and outside influences are not in your long term best interest. These two forces simply tantalize us with promises of a quick fix but ultimately leave us feeling empty, frustrated and waste our minutes, days and years.

5. Selflessness (Aparigraha) According to Websters, selflessness means having little or no concern for oneself, especially with regard to fame, position or money. It’s easy then to think, who’s going to look out for me but when you give you actually receive so much more.

6. Cleanliness (Sauca) This means we should be clean both internally and externally. Our mind, heart, intelligence, body, clothes, home, place of work, place of worship, and even our personal and business dealings – all should be clean. “Cleanliness is next to Godliness” may be a homely proverb but it has deep wisdom for those interested in spiritual life.

7. Contentment with what you have been given (Santosha) The mind is always hankering and lamenting for our objects of desire. The way to remain satisfied and peaceful is to practice gratitude in every aspect of our life and to constantly think of the welfare of others. (Whenever you find yourself complaining, thinking your cup to be only half empty, take a moment to pause and count your blessings and you will find that “your cup runneth over”.)

8. Austerity (Tapas) Sometimes we have to enforce self-restraint or undergo some type of strict discipline to achieve a higher goal of happiness. In order to win a gold medal, you have to put in the practice.

9. Study of Spiritual Truths (Swadhyaya) The ancient texts emphatically urge that the human race use their intelligence to distinguish spirit from matter, ie. the eternal from the temporary.

10. Surrender to the will of the divine (Ishwara pranidhana) Knowing that there is a loving higher power or divine force that exists, frees you from the weight of life’s burden. Realize that we are not the ultimate controllers of our situation and although an event may seem like a setback now, ultimately it is for our benefit. An example is that diamonds are formed under great pressure that makes a worthless piece of carbon into a most valuable gem. The trick is to receive the lesson in that way and understand that in the greater scheme of life, everything is as it should be. Don’t worry, if you’re having problems with this one – it takes lifetimes to surrender and get this right.

We all have such busy lives, it can be overwhelming to think of adding even one new “to do” to our schedule. But far from adding to your stress, following or even simply being mindful of these 10 daily observances can fill you with peace even on the most chaotic or challenging day. Using these observances to keep your life in balance is like depositing great sums into your spiritual bank account. Peace attracts more peace, contentment attracts more contentment, compassion attracts more compassion: you truly can transform every day into a sacred day – a holy day! And as you do, you create an internal energy — “man luck” — that is so powerfully positive it can defuse even bad “heaven luck” or karma.

This holiday, invite peace and compassion into your heart. Combine this with harmonious “earth luck” and you – and everyone you invite into your home – can enjoy a surge of energy that helps attract prosperity all year long.

Is the Color of Your Purse Draining Your Wealth?

April 10th, 2012

We’ve all heard that Capital One commercial: “What’s in your wallet?” However, if you’re interested in attracting wealth, a more important question is “What color’s your wallet?” And now, for the first time, I’m offering a phone consultation designed expressly to use color and some other secrets to help Energize Your Money Magnet. (I’ll tell you more about this in just a moment.)

I love beautiful bags! If I didn’t care about my finances, I’d go ahead and buy myself a beautiful red bag I just saw at Neiman Marcus. However, while the price of the bag itself wouldn’t have ruined my finances, that red color might have. So, instead, I’ve just bought a new green purse and a deep chocolate-colored wallet. Why? For my particular birthdate and the planetary influences in my home, the energetic vibrations of these colors act like money magnets for me. I sometimes carry a different-colored bag and wallet, too, when my Feng Shui “energy forecast” shows the chance of money loss. These other colors can blunt the impact of these negative energies and help me hang onto my money.

Should you run out and buy a green purse or a chocolate wallet? Absolutely not – unless you have the very same forces at work in your natal chart and home as I do. If you don’t, these same colors could actually weaken you financially — without your even being aware of it.

Everything in the universe carries an energetic vibration. This vibration can be quantified as a particular number. Different number combinations attract different types of energy which we experience as good fortune or bad money luck. The good and bad combinations depend on how the numbers that represent the energetic pattern of our natal chart interact with the numbers that represent our interaction with the world – e.g., the vibrational value of colors, directions, and other elements of our environment.

Why risk bad money luck?

Your wallet or purse is at the center of your daily financial life. Their color interacts with you directly and energetically!! Every time I am tempted to think that this is “just a little thing,” and go ahead and carry a bright red purse, I quickly see my luck turn and am reminded of just how real – and how powerful – color energies are.

Many New Age Feng Shui consultants will tell you carry a color that is the same as your Gua number. Not true – and this could actually drain wealth. Other New Agers say to carry your money in a red or blue purse. One consultant even sells red and blue purses! Well, there is just no such thing as “one size fits all Feng Shui,” and without knowing how red and blue will impact you energetically; you could be risking downright disastrous results.

Could you forego a wallet or purse and just put your money in your pocket? Sure, but why not take the opportunity to manipulate the color of your money holder to help lessen losses as you attract prosperity?

Take advantage of a mini consultation for Energizing Your Money Magnet

Helping you align your purse or wallet for prosperity is so important to me that I’m going to do something I’ve never done before and offer a mini Money Magnet telephone consultation. Sign up now and I’ll give you a phone consultation that reveals:

–The very best Money-Magnet color for your own purse and wallet (and if you’re married – the best colors for each of you!).

–How to energize your money magnet even more by carrying your own unique “lucky” amount of money. For a friend of mine, the amount is $48, while for her husband carrying $11 seems to bring extraordinary flows of good fortune.

–How to energize money luck — simply by reorganizing what’s in your wallet.

What Your Home Reveals About Your Life

April 6th, 2012
Your personal energy field is constantly interacting with your surroundings. Nowhere is the reflection of your inner life revealed more clearly than in your home. The fascinating thing is that by changing the outer reflection — how a room looks and feels, for instance — you actually have the power to change how you feel physically, emotionally and spiritually. In turn, more robust inner energy reaches out to attract good fortune for finances, health and relationships.
Plus, each area of your home corresponds to a specific area of your life.  So, by making changes in specific rooms you can actually bring about change where you feel you need it the most.  Let’s look at some examples:
Front entrance
Your home’s front entrance symbolizes how you present yourself to the world.  A welcoming entrance can help attract good fortune into your home – and your life. If your front entrance is neglected or messy, however, it can actually repel good fortune, success and overall well-being. So take a look!  Make sure there are no obstacles that one has to walk around to enter your home. This could symbolize obstacles arising in your life. Also make sure your front door doesn’t stick — this reflects a life that is stuck. Keep your front entrance fresh, tidy and well-maintained and you’ll create energy that supports a sense of expansion and feeling welcomed in your world.
Your bedroom symbolizes the way you perceive your inner self. This room is your personal sanctuary where you go to regenerate and take rest at the end of the day.  It is also where we go to reconnect with our partners. This room should be free from any distractions and disturbances.  If you suffer from low self-esteem, check to make sure your bedroom is not too dark. Instead, use lighter colors and perhaps introduce full spectrum lighting which mimics the sun’s natural rays. At the other extreme, your bedroom may be too bright. This can reflect an inner sense that you are always too busy to take time for yourself. If this is the case, introducing warm colors and using soft curtains to take away some of the harshness and brightness can give the bedroom more of a sanctuary feel – which in turn will easy the rush and busy-ness you feel in your life.
According to Vaastu (Indian Feng Shui), the kitchen is considered the stomach of the home. While you never want a messy, cluttered kitchen, a kitchen where there is little food or where the food has gone stale can reflect a life where finances are tight and there is little gathering or celebrating with others. Is your refrigerator well-ordered and stocked with fresh, nutritious food? Is the kitchen bright, clean and well-organized? Take a look – because the more you do to make your kitchen into a room where it’s a pleasure to prepare and eat healthy food, the more you do to create a life that nourishes you and your family physically, emotionally and financially.
Do you hold onto the past?  Do you hold grudges?  Is there a toxic relationship you just can’t let go? Is there a painful memory you can’t get over or someone you can’t forgive?  Take a look at what’s going on in your bathroom! This room symbolizes your ability to release what no longer serves you. So, start with what’s stored in the bathroom – get rid of old cosmetics, outdated medicines and anything that is no longer needed. This can energetically help you release things from your life that are not serving your best interests. Cleaning a bathroom helps too because the simple act of cleaning helps with renewing and purifying yourself.
Make sure the plumbing in your bathroom works correctly since water represents your emotions.  For instance, if you are feeling emotionally constricted, you may find that your sink backs up.  An overflowing toilet could mean you might have repressed feelings.  A leaking faucet could mean a constant drain on your emotions.
Truly, your home mirrors how you feel about yourself and how others perceive you. However, it’s a two-way mirror! Changing the energy in particular rooms can reflect back and change your inner life, too.

Classical Feng Shui: How Much of Your Success is Determined by Your Environment?

April 4th, 2012

In Asian countries, it is believed that there are three types of luck. Each of them affects one-third of your life; together they rule your fortunes. These three forms of luck are:

* Heaven Luck

* Man Luck

* Earth Luck

Heaven Luck:
This is the luck we are born with. It can be described as fate (or karma) and it is set at birth. The family into which we are born, our place of birth, our innate character and our destiny are all given to us by Heaven’s will. We cannot select our parents or change our families. Our destiny marks out our potential — and luck is the means to realizing our potential. Luck is an invisible force that can seem to make someone’s life difficult at every turn or amazingly easy. We’ve all known people who seem to have “the Midas touch” where everything they do turns into happy accidents that lead to success. This Heaven Luck — good, bad, or so-so — is often considered to be karma, reflecting actions we have performed in the past – either earlier in this lifetime or even before then. Because Heaven’s luck is connected to our destiny or fate, it is a part of our luck that may be beyond our control and that perhaps certain events or situations are meant to take place in our life.

Man Luck:
This is the luck we achieve through our hard work, education, perseverance, character, virtues and good deeds. We have tremendous influence over the quality of our Man Luck – and therefore our lives – through our thoughts, words and actions. By making good choices, continually gaining knowledge, and maintaining a positive mental attitude, we can fill our life with the “good” energy that attracts good luck and success. Our character and knowledge not only affect the near-term success of our endeavors, but also ultimately shape our destiny. In essence, we are always creating our future and fortunes with the choices we make today.

Earth Luck:
This is the luck we “absorb” through our environment. Unseen energies are believed to exist in our environment. Some of these energies are either beneficial, enhancing our prosperity and health, or negative, creating obstacles and bringing about misfortune. Thus, where we live and work has a direct influence on the opportunities and luck that come our way. Through Feng Shui and Vaastu, we can actually use the energies in our environment to help us succeed in our endeavors. By understanding how these energies interact with us, we can consciously and intelligently adjust our surroundings to bolster our good fortune and protect us from misfortune.

Take Greater Control of Your Destiny!

You have a great deal of control over both Man Luck and Earth Luck. Earth Luck is the easiest to change by manipulating environmental influences to attract good opportunities. Improving Man Luck requires personal discipline and can be harder to change. However, Feng Shui and Vaastu can help you change the intensity and the degree of ups and downs you experience in life, making it easier to maintain a positive mental attitude and make good choices. In fact, used correctly, Feng Shui and Vaastu can – by modifying your environment — modify periods of bad luck so that misfortunes are minimized while good luck is magnified so it has the power to bring stunning success.

Imagine having so much power over two-thirds of your luck! Plus, improving your Man Luck and Earth Luck can actually improve your Heaven Luck: even if you were born into a situation that places you at a disadvantage, using Feng Shui and Vaastu to enjoy good Man Luck and Earth Luck can change the course of your destiny — helping you attain a life of true abundance.

Feng Shui for Troubled Times

April 2nd, 2012

Authentic Feng Shui balances both visible and invisible energies. This is a critical difference from hobbyist or “do it yourself” Feng Shui that concentrates on changing what is visible about your environment — the arrangement of furniture, for example. In contrast, a professional practitioner of authentic Feng Shui also manages the powerful unseen energies in an environment and this is how it is possible to bring about almost miraculous results.

Still, with the economy pumping so much uncertainty and anxiety into the environment, it’s important to do all you can to create a supportive and protective environment. If you can’t immediately tap the expertise of a professional Feng Shui consultant, here are some common-sense ways to address — and improve — the visible energies in your home or office.

1. Create a clean and orderly environment. With all that’s going on in the outside world, it’s smart to make your interior world as stress-free as possible, and that starts by removing all visible signs of clutter, unfinished tasks, disorder and disrepair. There’s no need to put on white gloves and spend every spare moment cleaning. However, the cleaner and clearer your rooms, the better air currents — and energy — will flow. As a result, you will feel calmer, safer and more productive. The reason is that everything, from a piece of paper to a dirty pot in the sink, has an energetic vibration. When there are too many objects in a room, there is simply too much vibration. This makes it difficult for you to concentrate and can leave you feeling anxious, pressured and cranky.

2. Lighten your rooms — and your mood. With so much bad news coming at you from every direction, it’s easy to feel down and depressed. Did you know that spending too much time in dark rooms can actually contribute to depression, aching bones and other ailments? Let the sunshine in! Sunlight actually stimulates the optic nerve and tells the brain whether to produce serotonin (the wake-up, feel-good hormone) or melatonin (the time-to-sleep hormone). Sunlight is also a natural disinfectant that warms, brightens, and kills mold, mildew and germs. Light is a yang (vibrant) energy and in these tough times you want to bring in all the light you can to tip the balance away from living in an overly yin environment. Add a skylight if you can! If not, pull back the blinds, clean your windows, and turn up the lights. Full-spectrum light bulbs are wonderful since they reproduce the quality of natural sunlight and its positive effective on your body and mood.

3. Make peace with your décor! Conflicting colors and patterns not only conflict with each other — they can put you in conflict with your environment. Their warring vibrations constantly jar your eye, making you feel anxious and irritable. Plus, constantly looking at conflicting colors and patterns will strain your eyes (creating fatigue and headaches) and, over time, put pressure on your liver. Headaches, anxiety and health issues are the last things you need: make it a priority to surround yourself with colors and patterns that are in harmony with one another — and with you.

4. An eyesore is an eyesore. Anything that you see in your environment that bothers you will eventually depress your immune system. Get rid of those eye sores: chipped dishes, torn clothing, frayed or stained furniture, etc. And if you have an “eye sore view” from your window, immediately hang sheer curtains to block the view while still filling your room with beneficial light.

5. De-clutter your mind. A cluttered home or business creates a disorganized mind. And a disorganized mind usually does not handle stress well, nor can you think clearly. Clutter literally clogs your home with energy that may cause depression and an out-of-control feeling. Not being able to find your things can subconsciously send the message that you’re failing. Sometimes you allow clutter simply because you are just too exhausted to do anything about it. The irony is that it is often the clutter itself that is inciting this feeling of fatigue. Free yourself from clutter so things can begin to open up in your home — and in your life.

Remember, what’s visible in your environment is always a manifestation of what’s going on inside. The good news is that you can also use this principle in reverse! When you feel inner turbulence, use that anxious energy to transform your external environment: clean, clear away clutter, brighten, and beautify! You’ll be amazed at the immediate changes you begin to experience in how your environment looks and in how you feel.

Better Business Decisions Through Feng Shui

March 27th, 2012

Could Feng Shui have saved investors from losing billions to Bernard Madoff? Yes!

In Madoff’s office, a Classical Feng Shui practitioner would have been able to see absolute indications of “secrets”. A series of numerical calculations could literally have seen the future: this was a man with secrets who could not be trusted with money.

How can Classical Feng Shui reveal what’s coming? This science uses numbers to analyze how the unseen energies of a place are interacting with the visiting planetary influences. The numbers that result from the calculations can then be translated: a certain combination of numbers, for instance, might reveal an unfavorable environment for partnership coupled with an indication of secrets. The relations between these numerical combinations and real-world outcomes has been revealed – and proven – over more than 5,000 years that Feng Shui has been practiced.

Thus, when authentic Feng Shui is performed correctly, it can be used to predict and forecast what is going to take place in a location. For instance, a consultation might reveal that a particular building was charged with unseen energies that could lead to high expenses, revenue shortfalls, a hostile takeover, etc. When such inauspicious energies are found, Feng Shui can also be used to minimize the potential negative outcomes.

Here are three examples of how Feng Shui “number power” can work for your business:

1. Early-warning on problems developing inside a business. One of my clients was looking to buy a small retail business. In using Classical Feng Shui, I looked at the location of the business and the date on which it was started by the present owner. I saw strong indications that there were “secrets” going on in the business and advised my client to get the books checked. He said an initial audit had already shown that the books were fine. Because the energetic pattern so clearly indicated dishonesty and something hidden, I strongly urged him to get a second opinion — and thankfully he did. The second audit revealed that the buyer of this business would inherit a $200,000 IRS debt which was buried in the sales contract. Once the client learned of this, he immediately dropped his plans to purchase the business, saving himself from a financial disaster.

The future of a business – or investments — can also be revealed by looking at the home of the business owner or investor. In the case of the Madoff scam, the energies in the homes of every investor who lost money through Madoff’s firm would have indicated a HUGE money loss.

That’s why it’s prudent to have an authentic Feng Shui practitioner conduct an annual assessment of both your home and business. By staying alert to potential dangers — or beneficial energies — you work with rather than against the energies shaping your fortunes.

2. Insights into relationship and partnerships. You can be the absolute best in the business, but making the wrong choices about everyone from vendors to partners can handicap your success. A perfect example is John McCain and his vice presidential running mate, Sarah Palin. Now we all know that Sarah made some major media mistakes, and many political analysts even said that her inexperience was one of the reasons McCain lost the election. Yes, all that is certainly true from a wordly view. However, when you look at the numbers between the two, what you see is eerie: The numbers in Sarah Palin’s natal chart clearly showed that she would cause McCain defeat. He probably selected her to win women voters. If, instead, he’d had an authentic Feng Shui consultant “run the numbers,” he might have weighed his options and chosen a running mate with more power to support his success.

I’ll also give you a personal example of how those numbers make a difference: A while ago, I needed to retain an attorney. I got referrals from friends and colleagues and weighed each attorney’s relevant expertise. In making my final decision, however, I compared each attorney’s numbers to my own birthdate and the timing. The numbers told me exactly which attorney would give me the highest success. I chose that attorney. Though my case seemed to present a number of challenges, she handled my case with amazing success — the ruling went so completely my way that I was in awe of what happens when you work with the right energetic partner!

3. Choosing the right dates for proposals, deals and other major endeavors. Just as the planetary influences at the time of your birth establish your personal horoscope, the planetary influences on the day you start a particular venture establish your business and financial horoscope. For instance, if you buy stock on a day when there is money luck in your chart, you’ll make money. If luck is missing that day, I guarantee you won’t make money. If a daytrader were to review all the dates on which he bought stock in a given month, he would find that stocks with the biggest rates of return were all picked on 4 to 5 certain days within that month when the planets were aligned in his favor. The same applies to opening up a bank account on a particular date. I know westerners may find this silly, but in Asia, people will not schedule major business actions without checking whether the date is auspicious for that particular type of action. Remember, however, that a date that is auspicious for one person may not be auspicious for another person — the personal horoscopes must be considered in conjunction with the business horoscope.

Suppose, for example, that you want to incorporate your new business. Choosing an auspicious date is critical because it becomes the birthdate of your business. Through Feng Shui, you can look ahead and find a date that is marked for you with money-making potential. I had a client whose business simply limped along despite all the hard work she poured into it. After analyzing her incorporation date, I suggested she close the old corporation and reincorporate on a new date. Within less than 6 weeks of reincorporating on a date that had strong money-luck potential, her business started booming like she had never experienced before. She wasn’t working harder — but her business horoscope was now working with her rather than against her.

Consider date-selection Feng Shui before you open bank accounts, submit business proposals, buy cars, or make any major purchase. Note, too, that date selection can make a difference in your personal life, particularly if you are selecting a wedding date or preparing to undergo in vitro fertilization.

Unlock a Life Bursting with Prosperity, Love and Purpose

March 23rd, 2012

I know that ancient sciences are built on the eternal spiritual truths that underlie all religions and must be treated with respect.  I also know that we are connected to everything in this world – not just our immediate environment, but to the unseen energies of stars, planets and spiritual forces. When you unify practices like spirituality and meditation with the wisdom of energy sciences like astrology, Feng Shui, Vaastu, and numerology you align your life with eternal spiritual truths and profound power to change your life.

Stop living on autopilot! If we’re not careful, we can wind up living on autopilot – not feeling we have any real control over the course of our lives or the confusion, chaos and frustration we experience.  But what if I told you that you do have control … tremendous control! … and that you can exercise it immediately with actions as simple as choosing the right date to open a bank account, deflecting negative energies in your home, or even wearing the right color clothes to send energetic vibrations that help others feel a positive connection with you before you even say a word.

The secret, however, is that the secrets change. There is no one “wealth corner” in your home.  There is no one “health color.”  A Feng Shui “cure” that stilled negative energy in March could stifle cash flow in April – unless it’s moved.  Why?  Because energy moves and our relationship to the stars, planets, positive forces, and negative forces is always changing, too.

The secret is to change with these energies. And now, I’ll show you how — with my monthly teleseminar series.  Sign up now!

10 Top Classical Feng Shui Tips to Ensure Your Front Door Isn’t Sabotaging Your Success

March 19th, 2012

An expert Classical Feng Shui consultant will be able to tell about 75% of what’s happening in your life by analyzing your front entrance, bedroom and kitchen. Sounds unbelievable, but it’s not. Advanced Classical Feng Shui formulas can forecast the impact these areas will have on occupants of the home. The more people who pass through a doorway, the more active the flow of energy and the more influential the door becomes. While these calculations are tied to the unique energy makeup of you and your home, these general principles can help you ensure that your front door radiates positive energy:

1. Your front door creates a first impression for you and others who enter. A home with a welcoming entrance will put visitors at ease and attract good fortune. The path leading to your doorway should be clear and open so that there are no obstacles blocking the flow of energy into your home. Remove old newspapers, garden hoses, bicycles, overgrown or dead plants and trees. Keeping the path open allows good opportunities to flow into your life. Also clean away any cobwebs. Having an attractive doormat, and planting lush flowers and plants along the walkway and near the front entrance encourages good energy to enter your home and makes your home more inviting.

2. A front door that opens clockwise into the home channels more energy inside. All doors should open fully and easily. Remove anything placed behind a door that doesn’t allow it to open completely. Re-consider any self-closing mechanisms – or anything that lets a door open or close automatically: your door should symbolize that you are in control. Are you feeling beset by one obstacle after another? Get out your oil can and eliminate any squeaks, creaks or locks that are hard to open. Repair and spruce up your front door as soon it shows any of these signs of wear and tear.

3. A solid front door is better than a glass door and provides more protection and support. Glass paneling above the door is okay. Your house number or name should be clearly visible. Positioning the individual numbers of your address on an upward slant is auspicious too. The clearer the identification, the better it is for your career, recognition and an active social life.

4. Your front door should be proportionate in size to the home. If it is too large, it can cause financial difficulty and opportunities to be lost. If it is too small, it can create discord within the family. Also, if the front door is made up of two panel sections, then they should be equal in size and color.

5. Your front door should not face churches, cemeteries or funeral homes. These places illicit a tremendous amount of yin energy and can potentially cause depression, illness, fears and the potential for financial loss. You can plant bushes, small trees or add a retaining wall to obstruct the view from these unfortunate sites. However, do not plant a single tree directly in line with your front door since it will block beneficial energy from entering your home.

6. Your front door should not face telephone poles or sharp corners (known as poison arrows) from neighboring rooftops or buildings. The electromagnetic voltage emanating from electrical stations or telephone poles can cause health difficulties. And poison arrows pointing at your front door can cause bad luck, illness amongst children or even problems in career or business. While it is best to avoid such an entrance, you can plant small trees to block the view. A more expensive cure would be to reorient the front door.

7. Your front entrance should not face a narrow gap between two buildings. If so, it can potentially cause your savings to be squandered away. In both authentic Feng Shui and Vaastu, what you see is what you get. So, no “gaps” and neither should your front door face a dumpster or garbage heap — not even one that is far away. (I know this seems like common sense but just recently I saw a few homes facing this.) By hiding the view, you will minimize the negative effects coming from an adverse site. Plant small bushes or add a small retaining wall to cover up any such sight.

8. Your front door should preferably open into a large bright foyer or a living room. It should feel warm and welcoming. You should not be greeted by a wall when entering your home. On a subconscious level, it is as if you are daily walking into a wall which is blocking you as you try to move forward in life. Place a picture on this wall that has depth and dimension to it. You could place a mirror on a side wall but do not place a mirror directly in front of the main door.

9. In Asian countries, people will take off their shoes just inside the front entrance. Just imagine all the dust, dirt and dead energy our shoes bring into our home. Taking shoes off not only keeps your home purer, it keeps you more grounded to your home’s beneficial earth energies. As C. Jung said, “When you walk with naked feet, how can you forget the earth.” If you do remove your shoes when entering your home, keep them in a closet rather than blocking the front entrance. Culturally, westerners may not have the same outlook. So it is important then to at least clean and replace your doormat regularly since it also absorbs dirt, dust and stagnant energy.

10. If you enter through your garage door or another side entrance, then that door serves as your main entrance. The first place you come into when entering your home influences your state of mind. It is important than that this area also be clean and organized. Place a welcome sign in the garage or greet yourself with an inspirational photo or saying that makes you smile. Paint the room an attractive color and beautify this space just as you would the formal entrance.

In essence, the experience of entering your home should be like meeting a best friend — one who is warm, welcoming and ready to support you and put you at ease. By making the adjustments recommended above, your warm, welcoming entrance will help attract good fortune to your home.

Classical Feng Shui: How Classical Feng Shui Can Strengthen Your Cash Flow

March 16th, 2012

In this weak economy, it simply takes longer to close deals. In fact, I’m hearing from more and more business people who are frustrated that even customers who are still in a strong financial position seem to be in a holding mode – waiting to see what happens before they make any decisions. Clearly, keeping cash flow strong is a huge concern. Fortunately, as my clients will attest, Classical Feng Shui can give you an extra edge in attracting and landing new business – and even new careers.

As always, I must emphasize that harnessing authentic Feng Shui to stimulate cash flow requires calculations based on your unique horoscope, the layout of your home or office, and the monthly energetic shifts in the environment. That said, I’d like to share with you five general tips that can help you quickly improve your cash flow situation.

1. Consider placing a moving water fountain in the west sector of your home. This year a “prosperous” planetary influence is visiting the west. A fountain with clean water that runs continuously can activate the unseen energies which have the potential to bring about “money luck”. Do keep in mind, however, that this is a general tip. For example, with my own clients, depending on their specific horoscope and what area of the home or office occupies the west sector, I may not recommend water or I may recommend combining water with additional recommendations to further strengthen the pull of positive money energy.

2. Be mindful of the colors in your home office, workplace and home. Just recently, I was in a small business and just from observing the energetic make-up of the interior – particularly the vibration of colors — I could tell at once that this business was experiencing cash flow problems. (And this was a business that should have been thriving despite the current economic situation!) Now, there are no “bad” colors. The problem comes when certain colors combine with other unseen energies. A color that offers a calm, peaceful vibration in the bedroom, can be disastrous in a home office. Blue, for example, is one of the colors that should be used cautiously. While blue alone will not spell disaster, it can often combine with other energies to eventually depress your cash flow.

3. Clean out the old to make way for the new. Clutter weighs down the energies around you. Clutter is anything in your environment that is in disrepair or that you no longer like or use. It’s anything that is unfinished, in disorder, messy or stacked up. You have to physically create “space” in order to attract “things” into your life. Pay special attention to your desk: Clear away objects that sabotage energy flow. Clutter isn’t just messy; it’s a magnet for attracting negative energy. If your desk and floor are scattered with unfinished projects, papers, files and mail, energy can’t flow freely. Trapped energy either goes stagnant or builds up into a force that can make you feel jittery, overwhelmed, irritable, fatigued or depressed. In such an environment, you’ll find it’s hard to concentrate and complete tasks. Clean out your file drawers. It’s a basic principle of physics that nature abhors a vacuum – so clear your space and fresh, new things will flow into your life. If your business is slow right now, try decluttering and see if new clients don’t quickly appear!

4. Get rid of clients. In this weak economy, who can afford to get rid of clients, right? Wrong! Holding onto clients who don’t value you or who give you a hard time about payments can depress the energetic make-up of your business environment. Get rid of clients who no longer serve you and – as in #3 above – you create room for fresh, new clients to come into your life.

5. Expect wealth. Today’s headlines can be scary. But don’t allow yourself to fall into a pattern of fear. This vibration will not only attract more fear to you, it will activate the negative energies that may already exist in your home or office environment. Even in this tough economy, I have clients who are pulling in money, raises and abundance because that is the kind of energy they are attracting. So, for robust cash flow, combine powerful “wealth thoughts” with exterior projections of those thoughts: keep your front entrance vibrant and fresh, keep your office or retail space shining, and do everything you can to get your environment ready to welcome a steady flow of wealth and good fortune!
